Thankful to be Mother

Of all the joys in life, being called "mother" is one of the greatest! And it is all a gift. I feel so privileged and blessed to be mother to six, and grama to ten.

I'm so thankful for:

My husband, the father of our six, and grampa of our ten.
Our oldest daughter, a loving mother of a son and a daughter - born two days before my very first Mother's Day, 39 years ago.
Daughter in Dallas - caring, committed mom of four; three daughters, and a son.
Dark-haired daughter - blessed and happy mom of two boys, twins.
Youngest daughter - sweet, loving mom of two now - a son, and a newborn daughter.
Oldest son - far away in San Francisco; so thankful for his phone call.
Son in college - so blessed to have him nearby, and thankful for his visits.

A special Mother's Day picnic with three (of our six), and three (of our ten) - and phone calls from the other three (of our six). Blessed beyond measure for the privilege of being mother to each of them.

And so thankful for the fun of gardening:

Youngest son coming out to help us with garden - planting, and building of tomato tepees.
Three year-old grandson here for a day - eager to help, and always, full of smiles.
Planting of tomatoes, zucchini squash, summer squash, sweet potatoes, peppers, green beans, cucumbers, lettuce, spinach, radishes - and more to come.
And colorful flowers.

And blessed with another week of our Sabbatical/Time Off.

This incredible gift from God.
Relaxing days together.
Beautiful spring weather.
Baby chicks at a daughter's house.
Holding sweet granddaughter, again.
The startup of digital scrapbooking, after a break.
Our honeymoon photos - scanned and scrapbooking begun.
A picnic at Chalco Hills.
Graduation open houses.
Making trip plans.
