Perfect

Perfection - something that we often unknowingly find ourselves striving for. And other times, we purposefully strive for perfection. When we have labored over a project, and finally put the careful, finishing touches on it, we sit back and soak in the beauty of our creation. It no doubt was a struggle to accomplish our goal, but the joy of the finished work of art makes it all worth it.

James tells us of the way to the place of perfect in our own lives. The way to reach our goals, objectives, and purpose - that place where we feel complete, needing nothing.

"Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way,
consider it an opportunity for great joy.
For you know that when your faith is tested,
your endurance has a chance to grow.
So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed,
you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing."
 (James 1:2-4)

And the way to this place of perfect is through troubles, trials, and problems. For through persevering through difficult times, our faith has a chance to grow, and the fruit which results is beautiful and perfect. A beautiful work of art, reflecting God - which is our ultimate purpose and joy.
