Today, and each day as mothers, when we face things that have the potential for worry or concern, we are in need of Peace. Today my heart is with a son, as he is leaving on a fish processing vessel from Seattle, headed for the Bering Sea. Away from email, phones, texting - but never out of reach of a prayer. And my mother heart - never out of reach of Peace.
"Don't worry about anything;
instead, pray about everything.
Tell God what you need,
and thank Him for all He has done.
Then you will experience God's Peace,
which exceeds anything we can understand.
His Peace will guard your hearts, and your minds
as you live in Christ Jesus."
(Philippians 4:6-7)
Deeply in need of peace as our son leaves on this demanding, intense job - proud of him for doing a difficult thing to earn money he needs - and as a mother, desiring to pray instead of worry, needing His Peace to guard my heart and my mind.
These two verses from Philippians - for everyone. And, especially for ... mothers.
