Power Source

There is so much food for thought in the Live a Praying Life study that I have been going through with a group of women in our community. Each lesson holds almost more than I can contain, and I must record my thoughts to help retain these insights. I love the illustration given in Lesson 9 of magnetism.

A magnet ... drawing other objects to itself. A conductive power, passing on it's magnetism to another object when it comes in close range of the magnet. Like when a paper clip comes in close proximity to a magnet; it is drawn to the magnet with an irresistible force. And when that paper clip continues to stay in close contact with the magnet, it takes on the magnetic power of the magnet, passing on that power to other paper clips that it then comes in contact with.

Take the first paper clip away from the magnet, and it has no power of it's own to draw others.

This illustration reminds me of John 15:5

"I am the Vine; you are the branches.
Those who remain in me and I in them,
will produce much fruit.
For apart from me you can do nothing."

I want to stay close, so close, to the source of power ... and then God's irresistible love can flow through me to encourage and warm those around me. Even during this Christmas season; especially during this season of Love and Celebration.
