the scents and surprises of the season -
visible expressions of love ...
longed for, given and received.
Does more activity, and more effort on my part bring what I desire most of all? Or could it be that sometimes in the hustle and bustle of the season, we often blindly stumble over the very Source of the things we desire most.
"Take delight in the Lord,
and He will give you your heart's desires.
Commit everything you do to the Lord.
Trust Him, and He will help you."
(Psalm 37:4-5 NLT)
Lord, help me to not be too busy for what is most important. Help me to keep in step with You this busy, but wonderful season - pausing to listen to Your heart. Depending on You alone, trusting You ... the Giver of all that is good, and all that we long for. Remembering to connect my heart with Yours each day, throughout the day.
"Much prayer, much power;
little prayer, little power;
no prayer, no power ... "

You reflect the desire of my heart, too, Cherry. Sometimes I let too many busy moments go by without the rest, reflection and time with the Lord that really makes Christmas special.

Like you, seeking the sacred essence of this season, peeling away all that is not necessary.
ReplyDeleteIt's so easy to get wrapped up in the busyness of the season, that soon we find ourselves burned out and just ready for the holidays to be over. We miss the joy and peace that can come. I'm doing my best to slow down and not get frazzled, blessings to you as you try to do the same!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this beautiful post... especially your prayer. As I read it, I embraced it as my own. I pray that as we slow down and 'take delight in the Lord', He would be delighted with our praise and adoration.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by Mary @ Woman to Woman today!
Blessings to you and your family!
Thank you for sharing! Good things to think about during this Christmas season that sometimes feels more busy than peaceful. :)
