Remembering & Recording

Remembering, and recording in photo and word - our 40th Anniversary Trip to Italy in September 2011! God's plans are always better than our own. Sometimes His plans take us through some difficult times (mentioned in yesterday's post), and then, sometimes He surprises us with unexpected fun gifts, beyond anything we could even dream of.

Our Trip to Italy was one of those unexpected, incredible gifts. Something that we had not even allowed ourselves to dream of, but He knows what we desire even more than we do ourselves.

While in Italy for 17 days, we were in awe of everything that we saw - such a beautiful land. Everywhere we turned we saw more beauty than we could hardly contain. We loved it all. And yet, in the midst of our travels, I was reminded to focus my heart first of all, not on the gift, but on the Giver of the gift.

"Every good and perfect gift is from above ..."
(James 1:17)

And another gift for me this year has been the fun of learning digital scrapbooking - a way for me to record His gifts to us. The Gift of Himself, walking with us through all of life - the hard times and the good. And the gifts that He surprises us with along the journey, such as our amazing Trip to Italy.

Sharing of trips, and of scrapbooking projects - all gifts from Him.  The trip is completed, but the memories linger on, and the scrapbooking of our trip will continue in the weeks ahead. An album of memories, and of thanks.
