When we become too busy, too focused on tasks and to-do lists. When we find ourselves running here and there, intent on the doing and the going. We discover that we are lost, and we find ourselves looking for Home.
Our souls call out for a place of rest, of love, of peace. And as we follow the cries of our deepest longings, they always lead us back. To our true Home. With Him. For we are created in His image, and we are at rest when we are in close communion with Him.
"Delight yourself in the Lord,
and He will give you the desires of your heart."
(Psalm 37:4)
To delight in (to take great pleasure in, to worship) God brings us home. Brings us back to First Love. Where we belong, and where He longs for us to be.
These thoughts and words - taken from my journal a week ago today, as my sweet hubby and I entered into our week-long getaway at Mahoney State Park. Where our quiet, peaceful tree-topper cabin waited for us, and where we experienced the joy and refreshment of Home.

ReplyDeleteYes, Deborah, so true - "right here and right now in Him ... because of Him". So very thankful for His gift to us ... the gift of knowing, walking, and living with Him.
DeleteSo very true that in the busyness of everyday life, we can lose ourselves if we do not make time for Him. Beautiful, Beautiful post.
ReplyDeleteSo very thankful for His loving, gentle reminders - pulling us back to what is most important, and what is essential. Thanks for your words and for your visit!
