Sharing some of the highlights of this past week, a week of beautiful white snow covering our trees and yard. Adding to the excitement of the season - Christmas is in the air!
And as it was a very busy first week of December, I have needed to consciously focus on praying, and thanking, instead of worrying and stressing.
"Thank Me continually as you journey through today. This practice makes it possible to pray without ceasing as the apostle Paul taught. If you are serious about learning to pray continually, the best approach is to thank Me in every situation." (Jesus Calling)
"Always be joyful. Never stop praying.
Be thankful in all circumstances,
for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus."
(I Thess. 5:16-18)
Thankful for:
Our patient, loving God, even when we resort to worrying and stressing instead of praying and thanking.
Continual insight He gives us when we ask for wisdom.
Answers to prayer.
Dinner out together with a son at Pepperjax - good food, and great conversation.
Emails, texts, phone calls from grown children.
Attending an elementary Christmas concert in our town - sitting with a daughter and a granddaughter as we watched a special 9 year-old boy take part (our grandson!).
Taking time to help my 90 year-old father with a doctor's appointment, and some shopping.
Progress in buying gifts for Christmas.
Our December newsletter completed and in the mail.
A relaxing, fun Christmas party with our staff team.
Cozy Carmel coffee (Pears brand), a gift I came home with - love it.
Meeting up with two daughters, a son-in-law, and three little grandsons at our local fire station as they hosted a soup supper, and opportunity for the little kiddos to see Santa. Our grandsons liked the fire trucks the best of all!
