Busy moms, often serving unseen, and unnoticed - or so it seems. But who is there to notice all the acts of love that a mom fills her days with?
Often our children, and our husbands will notice, and will reward us with their expressions of thanks, and their love. And yet many times, it seems that no one notices, and we wonder, and we wish for more admiration than we receive. Unknowingly, we can slip into the mindset of loving and serving in order to be noticed, to receive pats on the back, or words of praise.
And at those times, it's good to be reminded.
"... Don't do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others ... "
(Matthew 6:1)
"Give your gifts in private,
and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you."
and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you."
(Matthew 6:4)
Young mothers, or moms with grown children - our minds are constantly with those we love. And our hands and hearts are always serving, loving, encouraging, praying, cleaning, cooking, shopping, preparing for Christmas. Never unnoticed. Always seen.
"But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you,
and pray to your Father in private.
Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you."
(Matthew 6:6)
Loving Lord, Thank You for grabbing my heart with these words (again) this morning - it's all for You; not for us, not for praise from those around us. Though blessed often with love and thanks, may my heart serve and love for Your eyes, and for Your praise - alone.

Very Good reminder that he see everything! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteGood word for today. Less of us, more of HIM!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post! I was reading over some of my older stuff just a little bit ago, and found one that speaks on this same thing. Sounds like God is trying to bring it back to my attention. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAnother verse: Your children will rise up and bless you. One day, when they are parents they will remember all you did. Not that we are seeking for that but it will happen.
ReplyDeleteI love this Cherry...I'm sorry I haven't been to your 'place' recently, and whenever I come and receive these blessings, I think, 'why don't I just live here?' It's sooo good! Thankful, thankful, so thankful for you!
