Baked Beans
This recipe has become one of my favorites for baked beans. It starts with cans of great northern beans, and the addition of sliced hot dogs adds a fun taste. Perfect for summer picnics, and for campfire gatherings in the cool fall. I made it this past weekend for a family hot dog roast (see photo below), and then had enough for a hoagie sandwich lunch the next day (doubling the recipe).
Baked Beans
3 cans (15 1/2 ounce each) great northern beans, rinsed and drained
5 hot dogs, sliced
1 1/2 cups ketchup
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons molasses
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
In an ungreased 2-qt. baking dish, combine all ingredients. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until heated through.

I just bought some northern beans a few days ago & this sounds like a good way to cook them! I forget how beautiful October is until it gets here. I'm glad you had such a sweet birthday Cherry. I am so thankful that Jesus sees us as holy & blameless because of His sacrifice. I'm praying to love more like Jesus, overlooking others'flaws, the way He forgives me. I want to be quick to forgive! Thanks for sharing! Love & prayers, in Jesus, Cynthia
