When Seasons Change
GO
Writing this post is a sign of a new season coming, for I am a person who plans ahead, edits ... writing impromptu for five minutes is a clear sign of a new season blowing through ...

To embrace motherhood means to embrace seasons, for in mothering we are constantly changing seasons. Seasons of expectancy, carrying dreams for our child within. The sweet seasons of caring for our newborns. Then the carefree days of toddlers, pre-schoolers, full of wonder and fun. The coming seasons of elementary years, and then teen years all carry their own storms and times of adventure.
And then there are all the weather changes within the seasons ... for me, they have included an overseas trip for six weeks, with five children in tow ... many days in hospitals, for leukemia, appendicitis, bone marrow transplant, terrible accident husband was in.
When seasons change, and they always do ... there is One who never changes. The One who made the seasons, and the One who promises always to be with us.
STOP
So much more to write ... I didn't even touch on the "empty nest" season I am in now. But my 5 minutes is up! And I will not go back and edit anything ...
Well, wonderful, for your first time and wonderful anyways...
ReplyDeleteIn 5 minutes you remind me again why I am so thankful to have you in my life. All of the things you have weathered as a mama and Christ-follower and clinging to the Unchanging One are why you are a wealth of wisdom and blessing.
p.s. some time I do want to hear more about the leukemia journey...honestly, can't imagine. i'm sure there were many miracles therein.
Yes, "there is One who never changes." As mothers we need God's presence through the seasons,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your post.
Thankful for the Season Maker who never changes.
ReplyDeleteHello again,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your message on my blog! It was my son that went through bone marrow transplant. He is now with the Lord. Some of the pain that we go thorough seems inexplicable.
The Lord God is inexplicable--He chose to have His Son die a terrible death to redeem us.
God has been gracious to our family bringing healing and a deepening faith in His unfailing love.
