"I have called you friends ..."
(John 15:15)
"True friendship is rare on earth. It means identifying with someone in thought, heart, and spirit." (My Utmost for His Highest) What we all long for. And what many miss finding. But this true friendship is to be found, for the One who created friendship, marriage, and who is Love - calls us into this deep friendship with Him.
"Once we get intimate with Jesus we are never lonely and we never lack for understanding or compassion. We can continually pour out our hearts to Him without being perceived as overly emotional or pitiful." (My Utmost for His Highest)
Thanking God for this amazing, incredible gift of friendship, more intimate than any other.
"I want you to be all Mine.
I am weaning you from other dependencies.
Your security rests in Me alone -
not in other people,
not in circumstances."
(Jesus Calling)
"And I am convinced that nothing can separate us from God's Love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow - not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's Love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below - indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the Love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39)
Desiring to grow in this deepest of all friendships ~
holding Him as my "First Love"
in this Month of Love - and always.
And thanking Him for His beautiful gifts of
marriage and family and friendship,
all glimpses of the deepest Love of all.
