Above All Else

 Coming in 2026  ...

If there were just one topic that I would write about here on my blog, it would be this. This is the most important, most valuable and treasured part of my life. If you could sum up your life in a sentence of what is of most importance, what would your words be?

For me, it would be this ... the most important part of my life is to nurture my heart in loving, and following Jesus. Everything else flows from what is of most importance to us in our hearts and our souls. And I have found through the years, which by now, has multiplied into decades, is that everything in life flows from what we treasure the most. What is deep within us. 

Above all else, guard your heart, 

for everything you do flows from it.

This page will hold a collection of the posts that I write about this topic that is so deeply connected to who I am. I am by nature a person with a sensitive heart, deeply connected with all that is around me. This heart needs to be cared for, nurtured, and kept focused on what is life-giving. Life-giving for myself, and in turn, that overflows into love and care for others. And this begins in my heart - quietly, regularly deepening my roots, depending on Jesus. For everything of value comes from Him. This is the way to live fully, deeply connected to our Maker. 

Deepening Our Roots

Spring is a time for fresh beginnings and new growth. Coming out of a long and cold winter, though winter can be lovely in its own way, I am often longing for new growth, for a freshness in my soul. As our garden spots, our trees, and our grass take on a new life, so my soul thirsts for new life, as well.
